House Rules

Conversation, comments, and ideas are welcome here. Whether you agree or disagree, we are happy to hear what you have to say. But there are some rules and guidelines you should follow.

  1. This is not a Free Speech zone. This is a private web site and I'm in charge. If you get insulting, obnoxious, or start spouting off stuff that could be construed as illegal or libelous I will remove it. If I have to warn you more than once I will remove your membership. This is not censorship. Censorship is when the government stops you. I'm not the government and I don't have to allow anything here that I judge to be inappropriate.
  2. Please maintain a sense of reality. Do not say things that you wouldn't say to someone's face. Do not call people names, do not insult them.
  3. Please try to be factual. If you are discussing a specific act or issue please present some evidence to support your point. Opinions are fine, but they should be developed from some examination of relevant facts. Please share those facts. Baseless opinions waste everyone's time.
  4. Please do disagree with me. I don't mind that at all. The House Rules are meant to maintain a sense of civility and respectful debate, not to quash people who disagree. Even vigorous disagreement is encouraged. Just don't get carried away. If you act as if you're going to have to sign your real name to everything you write here we'll get along just fine.
