There is some fantastic news out yesterday — Jason Weigandt and David Bailey will be 2/3 of the broadcast team for SPEED TV coverage of the outdoor MX Nationals! I have been wondering if we were going to have to suffer through another season of Ralph “Monster Truck” Sheheen — bless his heart. I know [...]

Daytona SX definitely the best of the year
March 7th, 2009 · No Comments · Events, Racing, Reviews
I’ll go out on a limb here and predict that Daytona is and will be the best SX race of the year. Mostly for all the reasons that make it the least Supercross-like of all the races — longer track, no 180-degree bowl turns, multiple soil types, varied obstacles, really rough. FIM launches new website
February 18th, 2009 · No Comments · Events, Industry, Racing
Federation Internationale de Motorcyclisme (FIM) has launched their new website. The old FIM site was rather poor. It was only useful for finding press releases, but it was not regularly updated. My expectations for the new site are low and I will probably still be disappointed. But it has video for highlights. That’s something…

The team suffered a near race-ending pit fire around noon on Sunday, with four hours left to complete. “Mr. Daytona” Scott Russell had just climbed into the car when he smelled fuel. [...]

January 27th, 2009 · No Comments · Events, Racing, Vintage
Rick Doughty, of Vintage Iron fame has announced the new, national VMX series — the U.S. Vintage Motocross Series. This has been in the works for a while. It’s the first vintage national MX series (to my knowledge) not promoted by the American Historic Motorcycle Racing Association (AHRMA). The off-road portion of AHRMA in general, [...]
Now you can add crappy content from MotocrossMX1.com to your Facebook page
January 22nd, 2009 · No Comments · Racing
Youthstream announces that effective immediately all the users of MotoCrossMX1.com and SuperMotoS1.com can post the contents, including news and photos, to their Facebook friends. Woohoo. MotocrossMX1.com has some of the worst, most vapid motocross content on the planet. It’s a veritable black hole (and I don’t care what that moron John Wiley Price says, that’s [...]
